Seaside Donuts

Seaside Bakery on Newport Pier.....AMAZING. I can't get enough. Their donuts are the best I have ever had I think, and I have had A LOT of doughnuts. Scarlett and Blaine loved it. Scarlett always wants two chocolate sprinkle ones. She was telling me one night she wanted to go the next day on a date to get donuts and she was going to get a chocolate one and have chocolate all over her face. That she did.

It's 79 degrees, and I'm sitting in the hammock and drinking a smoothie. I love my life.

nice weather

this week the weather has been so nice! we were outside until dark last night!

why you shouldn't build your house on a cliff.....

This is right by our house....im guessing it's damage from all the flooding that took place last month. How scary would that be!

dear old navy, i love you and i hate you

 

My friend Amanda and I went into Old Navy for 15 minutes. I got $150 worth of goods for $35. Pretty amazing, especially considering the jeans were $15 of that. 1 pair of jeans, 1 set of thermals, 1 3/4 sleeved shirt, 2 tee shirts, 1 thing for Scarlett, 1 thing for Levi (sorry Court, the dino swim trunks weren't on sale...I tried) 1 leather belt, and 1 pair of sunglasses. I'm pretty impressed with my shopping skills, but I might need to sell my blood first if I ever want to set foot in Old Navy again. A love/hate relationship for sure: I love the deals, but I hate spending money at all!

lunchtime aftermath

I think I don't usually eat lunch when I'm home by myself because it's too big of a deal to make and clean up for just myself. Today I made chicken fajitas on the George Foreman grill, and made some Pico de Gallo to go with it. Tasty, but not as fun without anyone to share it with.

happy MLK day!

To celebrate Martin's Day we went to the beach. Or it was just a really nice day :-) The beach was the most crowded ive seen it since we've been here. This is our favorite beach to play at (where I found all those cool shells) and usually there isn't another soul in sight!

Starfish

I found all of these amazing things on the beach in Newport by lifeguard stand #15. Go there if you are in the area! There were also a ton of crabs and so many beautiful shells.

Sunday afternoon excitment

Sunday afternoon I was making dinner and heard a bunch of sirens. They sounded really close so I went out and there were 6 firetrucks and 2 ambulances. All the neighbors were walking down the alley to see what was going on, so I joined them. We got close and saw a bike laying on the side of the road and the emt's surrounding somebody on the ground. We were all wondering if it was another neighbor, so one of the guys went over to take a peek and came back laughing. I was thinking somebody was dead or something, so I was so confused on why he was laughing. He got back to us and said "a drunk guy fell off his bike and scratched his elbow" Apparently that was the most excitement our little Balboa Peninsula has seen in awhile, because the whole fire department showed up. Then they hung out in the street for like half hour. No joke- I have never seen that many neighbors out either. It was a party on our street! When the firemen left they drove down our street with their lights on, waving out the window like they were in a parade. The guy who crashed got on his bike and rode away. It gets crazy down here :-)

Crystal Cove

Today we went down and took some family pictures at Crystal Cove. It is just a little south of our house. It was so pretty, and such a beautiful sunset.

easy life

Today I just played with these two. Nothing to do, nowhere to be - it was wonderful. We packed a lunch and walked down to the fun zone, found a picnic table, ate our lunch and Scarlett chased birds. Very good day.

Red Door

While we were gone for Thanksgiving break our house got painted and it is SO nice. My favorite part is the red door. It's also Scarletts favorite. She comments everytime we come in the door about how pretty it is.

Laundry

Today I did laundry. Lots and lots of laundry. Bedsheets, towels, rugs ahhh it's all clean and my neighborhood smells like Lavender Vanilla Bounty sheets because the pipe from the dryer shoots right out into the alley. Your welcome everyone.
